I could honestly talk about the benefits of reflexology for health and wellbeing for hours. It’s one of the most effective and gentle treatments I’ve ever worked with—and that’s saying something, as I’m also trained in massage and other bodywork techniques.
Over the years, I’ve found that reflexology offers deeper, longer-lasting benefits for overall health and wellbeing than many other therapies. Here’s why I think it’s so amazing.
What Is Reflexology?
I first discovered reflexology during my Naturopathy degree, and I instantly fell in love with it. Reflexology is based on the idea that specific points on your feet correspond to different parts of your body—your hormone glands, organs, bones, and more.
By gently stimulating these reflex points on the soles (and sometimes the sides or tops) of your feet, I can help encourage better nerve communication and energy flow throughout your body. This helps support your natural healing processes and restore balance from within.
The Benefits of Reflexology
Reflexology can help you feel more relaxed, balanced, and energised. Many clients say they sleep better, experience less tension, and feel emotionally lighter after just one session.
Because reflexology works through your nervous system, it can support:
- Hormonal balance
- Digestive health
- Circulation
- Stress relief and relaxation
- Energy flow and emotional wellbeing
I can often pick up on areas that are out of balance—sometimes even patterns from the past—through the feedback your feet give me.
(Just to note: while I’m not medically qualified, and research into reflexology is still growing, what we do know so far is incredibly positive.)
Reflexology During Pregnancy and for Babies
One of the reasons I love reflexology is that it’s safe, gentle, and deeply nurturing. I can treat you from day one of pregnancy if you’d like, or we can wait until your second trimester—it’s entirely up to you.
There’s also some research showing the benefits of reflexology in pregnancy, especially for promoting relaxation and improving sleep. And because it’s so gentle, babies and toddlers can benefit too.
What to Expect in a Reflexology Session
I often see clients who have never tried reflexology before—they usually choose massage instead. But after their first reflexology session, they’re amazed at how relaxing it feels and how insightful the feedback is at the end. And they love it!
