How I
Hello, my name is Katie and I’m a science degree qualified Naturopath. I spent 4 years at The University of Westminster training to become a Naturopath after reading History of Art at The University of Edinburgh. This means that with everything I do, I make sure it is safe and that as much as possible there is research to back it up.
Whilst studying to become a Naturopath I trained in a variety of therapies including Nutritional Therapy and Reflexology. I have since trained in
- Pre and postnatal reflexology to degree level
- A baby massage diploma
- Baby and toddler reflexology
- Infant sleep
- 3 months training in breastfeeding support with the Breastfeeding Network
- 3 months training as a postnatal doula.
This skillset means that I can truly look after all of you and ‘treat the whole’ which means I take into account your biochemical, structural and emotional health. Which is what makes me a Naturopath, following a specific set of Naturopathic Principles. They include: –
- Do no harm – so I will always take a thorough health history to make sure anything I recommend is safe with any medication you are on or condition that you have.
- Doctor as teacher – so I aim, in the nicest possible way, to get rid of you. To teach you how to look after you so you don’t need me anymore.
- Treat the cause – which is why I don’t just address symptoms. They are the body saying something isn’t right. I try to see what’s going on is causing them. By addressing this it hopefully allows the body to get back into balance.
By doing the above and taking a thorough health history means everything that I do is bespoke to you. As there is no one else like you.
