My why
This is a hard one to write — and to keep short. It’s also hard not to talk about myself, because my why and me are so closely intertwined. But everything I do is about you. Helping you. Supporting you. Making things easier for you. So I hope that by sharing my story, you’ll understand why my work is so personal — and why it’s all for you.
Life Changed by Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia
During my first time at university, while studying History of Art, I was unexpectedly diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia. That diagnosis changed the way I see life forever. I didn’t go on a crusade to “fix” myself, but I did make conscious choices to live as healthily — and as happily — as possible, not just to manage cancer, but for life. One thing I’m completely certain about is this: doing what you can to be happy truly matters.
Discovering Naturopathy
At 25, I returned to university to train as a Naturopath. I hated my job at the time and was deeply unhappy. It was affecting my health, and my blood results were starting to worsen. That job wasn’t a career choice — it was something I fell into to pay the bills. Naturopathy, on the other hand, found me. I came across it while researching Nutritional Therapy at the University of Westminster. I loved food and wanted to help people, but Nutritional Therapy felt limiting. When I read the Naturopathy course description, I just knew — this was it.
Finding My Calling with Babies and Parents
As my course came to an end, my sister had a baby. She noticed how natural I was with new-borns and called me a “baby whisperer”. She suggested (as did my mother, as she knew how happy babies made me) I work with babies — and that’s when my Naturopathic toolbox for babies and parents began to grow.
I trained in:
- Baby massage
- Baby sleep support
- Pregnancy massage (which I realised was limited for mothers)
- Pre- and postnatal reflexology to degree level
- Baby and toddler reflexology
- Breastfeeding support
- Postnatal doula support
Overcoming Imposter Syndrome
Throughout much of this journey, I felt like an imposter. When I spoke about supporting pregnancy or babies, I was often asked, “Do you have children?” When I said no, I’d notice a subtle shift — a change in expression or tone. And I understood why. What people didn’t know was that I wasn’t medically allowed to have children. My leukaemia wasn’t stable enough to stop treatment, and pregnancy wasn’t safe on the medication I was taking.
My Fertility Experience
Then, in 2020, everything changed. I was finally given the green light. I went to a fertility clinic, and my results came back with the words “compromised fertility.” I wasn’t shocked. I already had eggs frozen at 22 as part of my cancer treatment, so IVF didn’t worry me. I approached my fertility exactly as I would a client’s. I ran functional medicine tests, followed a comprehensive supplement protocol for six months, and adjusted my diet to support fertility.
In 2021, I fell pregnant — naturally — without IVF.
Supporting My Baby Like a Client
I then used everything I knew with my baby. Her birth wasn’t ideal, breastfeeding had a very difficult start, and on paper she should have struggled with colic, digestion, asthma, or eczema due to being a C-section. But she was calm, settled, and happy — with no tummy or skin issues. I truly believe that’s because I supported her exactly as I would support you.
Why I Do What I Do
This is my why.
My passion and joy is helping you get the baby you long for — and then supporting you so the journey afterwards is as smooth, supported, and calm as possible.
Because trust me… when they turn three, you’ll miss those new-born days more than you can imagine.
